Can you tell us about your job? How did it all start?
"I work for Humanihut, an Australian-born multi-national company that designs and manufactures a unique folding portable infrastructure solution.
My journey with Humanihut started three and a half years ago in Adelaide during a summer break while I was studying my Masters, I was asked if I could lend a hand for only two weeks on a COVID quarantine facility project the company had just won a tender for…. And never left! A few years and positions later I packed up my life (and cats) to move to the UK to help establish the company in this market and begin local recruitment.
Officially I’m the Corporate Services Manager but being in a start-up phase of a new market you become a jack of all trades. While my day-to-day job is heavily governance/policy/administration/finance, it’s not uncommon for me to be out on the tools setting up our huts!"
Any recent news or achievements you wish to share?
"I think the biggest achievements this year have been the move overseas, and also managing the move of our office to Square Works by myself! And of course, winning Square Works member of the month."
What do you like most about being a member at Square Works?
"I chose Square Works over all of the other offices we toured in Bristol for the community-minded focus.
Settling into a new city and finding your people is challenging. Square Works has been brilliant in that regard and strikes the balance beautifully between a fun night out at a members’ party or networking with other businesses over a glass of Prosecco!
I cannot emphasise enough how friendly and welcoming the Square Works team are. And they are always willing to help out with any weird and wonderful questions or requests I might have!"
