It's that time again! We are excited to announce our June Member of the Month:
This month, we chose Corrina McElduff and her fluffy friend, Daisy!
The Square Works team all agreed that Corrina is kind, always smiling, sincere and we always loving sharing a chat with her. And as for Daisy, we love her for her adventurous spirit!
Corrina is the Director of Partnerships and Professional Affairs at Ocumetra, and here is what she had to say about her journey and being a member at Square Works…
Can you tell us about your job? How did it all start?
"I'm an optometrist by background, and fell into specialising in paediatrics. Early on I became more interested with myopia (short sightedness) in adults and then eventually children and started rethinking how we manage it, moving away from the traditional "just update the prescription" approach towards actually slowing its progression. That work eventually drew me out of clinical practice and into industry, where I could have a wider impact. I'm now at Ocumetra, a Dublin based MedTech start up where I help shape and build the future of eyecare for young myopic kids, which feels like exactly the right home for everything I care about professionally."
Any recent news or achievements to share?
"Work's gone a bit mad recently but in the best way, we've just expanded into a big group of practices here in the UK and two in the US, which still feels slightly pinch-me after all the years of work. Outside of work and on the pitch, we've made it to the league final in a few weeks time, if I look nauseous at any point, I'm probably thinking about that game."
What do you like the most about being a member at Square Works?
"For sure the people and being able to bring my dog Daisy. She does no work, makes no money, and yet somehow lives better than I do."
What’s one snack that instantly makes your workday better?
"A strong cup of tea and a few squares of Tony's Chocoloney at about 3pm."
Thank you Corrina, congratulations on being our June Member of the Month!
