It's time for a brand new Member of the Month! This April, we're celebrating Myles Pillay from KJA Digital. Myles always brings a great vibe to Square Works and always puts a smile on the team's faces. Congratulations Myles!
How did you start out in your current role?
"It's been almost exactly 2 years since I started working with KJA Digital, they offered me my first job in Web Development and I couldn't think of a better start to my career in tech. After the final lockdown I decided I wanted to make a career change and took a coding course to get the ball rolling. Thankfully I can say It's been by and large the most exciting and fulfilling job I've ever had, and it just keeps getting better!"
Why did you choose Square Works? What drew you to co-working?
"My team had recently got an office in Square Works just before they hired me so it was all a fresh start for us in the building. During lockdown I had been working from home and a prerequisite for my new job was needing to work in the office; this was music to my ears. The team at Square Works were so welcoming from day 1 and all the extras made me feel very lucky to be working here. I never want to go back to office vending machine coffee. Then just when it seems like it couldn't get any better Sophie knocks on the office door with a silver platter of sweet treats, what even is this place?!"
Tell us a little bit about yourself:
"Don't mind me, just using this opportunity for a shameless plug of my music... I've been one half of a Bristol-based live Hip-Hop band for the last 5 years called 'Plastic Terras'. We make some music that doesn't quite fit in the box, and even when it does, it continues to spill over the sides into other boxes. We've got plenty of stuff on Spotify and iTunes if anyone would like to check us out."
